| Woman's World, SIMSON - MORRISON St. Paul's Presbyterian Church. Wanganui, was the setting for the wedding on the afternoon of July 14. of Audrey Ursula Morrison, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ross Morrison, Waverley and Trevor Cameron, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Cameron Simson. Kohl, Waverley. The decorations in the church were cream and pink camellias. and cream bows at the ends of the pews. The Rev- A. C. McLean officiated. Entering the church with her father, the bride wore a graceful gown of magnolia satin embossed with prays of orange blossom. The fitting bodice featured a square neckline, and the sleeves tapered to points over the hands. The gathered skirt fell from a pointed waistline to form a long train, which was scalloped at the edge. A coronet of plaited ribbon and orange blossom held to the head her veil of uncut tulle which formed a second train and she carried a bouquet of cream winter roses, begonias and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were Misses Sybil Morrison (the bride's sister) and Marjorie Lupton, of Waverley. Their dainty frocks of forget-me-not olue sprigged organdie over blue satin, were made with narrow frills forming the hefert-shaped necklines and tiny sleeves. The full skirts, drapea at the hem with deep frills, fell from the pointed waistlines of the fitting bodices, and their bouquets were of cream rosebuds, freesias ana blue irises- The small flower girl. Diana Dickie, wore a high-waisted, long frock of white sprigged organdie with puffed sleeves and frills round the skirt. Ivory velvet ribbon ties and a bow at the back made a pretty finish. She carried a small posy to match the bridesmaids' bouquets and wore a string of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom. All wore circlets of cream flowers on their heads. Cameron Campion, nephew of the bridegroom, as the small page, was in an ivory velvet suit with long trousers and frilled blouse. Mr. Doug Button was best man and Mr. Jim Elmslie (Waverley) groomsman. The ushers were Messrs- Wilfred Simson jnr. and Milton Morrison. Mr. J. C. Thompson was organist. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a floral and lace horseshoe by Patricia Campion, niece of the bridegroom. For the after-reception in Dustin's Social Room Mr. and Mrs. Morrjson and Mr- and Mrs. Simpson received the large number of guests. The bride’s mother wore a smart black silk suit under a black boucle coat, and black hat trimmed with a moire ribbon bow. She wore a cyclamen spray. The bridegroom's mother wore a black satin-backed crepe frock trimmed in sky blue, black coat and black hat with blue feather encircling the crown. Her spray was of freesias and maiden hair fern. For travelling, the bride chose a grey “new look” suit with full skirt and tight jacket, smart brown coat, and felt hat with a grey bow draping over the shoulder. Accessories were in brown. Mr- and Mrs. T. C. Simson will reside at Kohi. Waverley, where tne bridegroom is farming. |
