Wikipedia Great Redan Battle
The storming of the Redan was a brutal, unsuccessful assault by British forces on the key Russian fortification in Sebastopol on 8th June 1855 during the Crimean War. Following a failed june attack, a second assault on September 8th 1855, saw British troups briefly enter the fort, but trhey were opinned down and force back by heavy Russian fire, leaving behind over 1000 dead,
